On Saturday morning, Mindy and I ran our 2nd 5K race together. Our first one was in May and I was pushing Bradley in a stroller so it seems that this time I did much, much better. It was the perfect morning--a bit of a breeze down by the river but warm enough to make us dripping with sweat--just like real runners! I have to say, I have never been much of a runner--we Floyd girls just aren't built that way. Fortunately, my sister is my drive, motivation, inspiration and personal trainer. Upon hearing about the race, Mindy immediately signed up and then made sure I was signed up and committed. She can pretty much run me into the ground when we are working out--I'm much more of a wimp but I love that she stays with me and pushes me to go harder and do better. We are already talking about doing another one soon, maybe. . . .

I am SO impressed! Maybe the next time you sign up for a race I'll sign up with you. Who would have thought you'd end up a runner!!
Jenny
All right, Jen--check out 3rrr.org and see if there is a race you want to do. If it gets you down to visit, I'm in!
Mara
Wow! You rock! Walking that marathon in Ireland convinced me never to do anything like unto it, but I can admire your determination. You go, girl!
Wow! You both look great! I ran my first 5K this summer also. After being beat (by several minutes) by my 60 year old mother-in-law, I think I will give up on the racing career.
Marci
Marci, you and I should run together. Mindy and I would laugh at all of the not-so-out-of-shape grandmas that passed us!
Sher, I don't think I would want to walk a marathon, either even if it was in Ireland. Remeber when we did the walk-a-thon in the rain? I really wanted to get on the "poop-out wagon" so bad but I don't think you would let me--
Don't let Mara fool you--she beat me in this one BUT THERE WILL BE A REMATCH!!! I hope to see some of you there!
